Description

FED WATE (also known as Barium Sulfate) is a high-quality, drilling-gradebarite used to increase fluid density in a wide variety of drilling fluids. Dueto its unique high specific gravity and API specifications, M-I Wate is themost widely used weight material for fluid systems. M-I Wate is chemicallyinert and insoluble; therefore this product does not interfere with otheradditives in a fluid system.

Theamount of FED Wate material required to increase the density can be calculatedwith the following formulas:

M-IWate, lb/bbl = (1,435(w2-w1))/34-w2)

Where:

W1= Initial Mud Weight in lb/gal

W2= Desired Mud Weight in lb/gal
